    What I was saying, is I see no need to update my bios to the beta release, when I am already protected.

    Ok gotcha. Maybe the new Bios just provides some improvements rather than full blown mitigation's?

    Well it just might do that, but until I see some release notes from Asus, and its gets off from being a Beta version, I'll wait. :)

    Asus web dev's need a kick in the pants. The X Hero provides no notes but check the X Code download page: " Update Intel CPU Microcode"

    So I guess that's what it is, a microcode update. Of course the details are limited though and don't explain why the old Bios passed InSpectre.
