The Maximus X Hero has great VRMs for stable power delivery, that's why I stayed with it, instead of buying a Maximus XI Hero for my 9900K. My 8700K could do 5GHz but needed more voltage, and liquid metal to keep it a little cooler, but wasn't that good a undervolting.
At idle, all my cores are running in the mid 30's for temps. Can play high intensive games with no problems so far. Ran a couple of stress tests and was fine.

I finally found a good fan controller to get away from that "forever the beta ASUS software" crap AI Suite(I only needed and used it for my fan curve)
FanControl from Rem0o: GitHub - Rem0o/FanControl.Releases: This is the release repository for Fan Control, a highly customizable fan controlling software for Windows.
Don't get the download from Major Geeks, as it never works, get it from GitHub.
Some fanheader sensors are found, but for some reason "hidden", so you might need to unhide yourself, they are there. In my case it was the heard labeled "Case Fans" this is probably do to the fact I have the header connected to a my Phanteks cases controller and run 3 intake fans of of it(3 more are on my AIO).
If anyone wants to use it, and uninstall their AI Suite after I have a copy of the AI Suite services cleaner.
1. uninstall AI Suite through control panel.
2 boot into safe mode
3. run the services cleaner
4. open regedit and nuke the AI Suite keys inside of(not the main ASUS key in case you have other ASUS software installed) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASUS and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ASUS
5. reboot back into windows
6. check for any leftover folders
6. run Ccleaner to get rid of any left over keys
7. reboot
After running a few days, it works great on my Maximus X Hero!
