Oh and Gene, no big deal for me as I had already updated the firmware with the standalone that Mokichu provided awhile ago.
Firmware can't go backwards any how, with out a lot of hard hacking from what I understand.
Yeah, I reluctantly updated the firmware too brecause of the security vulnerability fixes. microcode too ( B4h for me). Overclocks are still stable

It should address some security vulnerabilities in the on-chip Intel Management Engine (this has its own independent micro operating system running on your chip). Don't take updating the firmware lightly. If you update the wrong version for your chipset/board, it could brick it. And you cannot "uninstall" or downgrade it once you have updated. Best for most to wait for the motherboard manufacturer t o supply the firmware update.

To see if your Management Engine is vulnerable, you can use the first two tools on the Intel download page linked below.

True but can you actually install the wrong version ?

Any other details on the new BIOS or is it just the security patches? If my current BIOS 1801 passes with both of the tools you linked to what the new BIOS offer?

I believe that is aall of the information Intel will provide. I would not have upgraded myself if I would have passed those tests.

I failed CSME so I guess I'm behind on the ME firmware that new BIOS's have?
