    I am sensitive to it.
The numbers are not that big in benchmarks, 3% realbench hit overall, 10% on it's image editing piece. encoding is actually 1% faster. SSD benchmarks for 4k are hit big though. For my 960 Pro, on the order of 20-40% on 4k i/o on CDM and ASSSD.

@Geneo, I wasn't saying you were wrong. Just that I hadn't noticed any slowdown. I don't bench my SSD very often either. Maybe I should try one.

I rolled back the bios on my rig because of the 4k hit to drive numbers.

Same here. I went back to previous bios to get 4k numbers back up. Here is my before and after numbers. Bios 1102 had the microcode updates so I went back to 1004 bios version.

    Hi,
Yeah I never bothered with the new bios.
I really don't see the big fuss personally :/

I know. Like I said, I am just sensitive to this, I am sure other people would not notice. I compared several times disabling/enabling the Spectre patch through the registry. Don't get me wrong, I still think it is one of the best deals in town, especially for gaming.

The 8700K already beats Skylake-X 8 core's in every gaming benchmark.
I can appreciate an 8 core on newer architecture may have some advantage though.
    Hi,
As long as you also realize both need to be delided because both are little space heaters.
Also you have to realize the differences in default clock speeds in both generations :)

You do not need to roll back firmware. You can disable the patch through the Windows registry with no performance hit. The microcode just supplies the os with some new hooks for the os spectre patch. Disabling the patch in the OS eliminates the performance hit. I will post instructions later.
