For Kaby Lake-S, Skylake-S ja Coffee Lake-S CPUs, I would use Aquacomputer Dr. Delid PROFESSIONAL. It can delid and relid, and it removes the lid with a twisting move, which is better than a side push.

Note! There exist also a plastic version of the tool, which breaks easily. Make sure you buy the PROFESSIONAL, which is full metal.

    Thanks slicendice.

The twist pop seems like a good method. No mention of New Zealand in shipping countries but Australia is. I will flick them an email. :)

Which way is the IHS actually supposed to go back on?

Edit: I think I can figure that out! lol

The mark (the triangle on one corner of the CPU base) should be in lower left corner, and the text on the IHS should then be aligned so it's readable. :)

Hey guy's check out tonight's gaming CPU temps, cool as a crisp! I'm sure this will all change once the voltage and clocks goes up though.

Quite a lot of room to play with there (assuming you did some multithreaded CPU intense calculations for 10-15 min in order to get the max temps). :)

I used the Rockit tool on mine, worked flawlessly. Good price to.

Probably already mentioned but have some liquid metal on hand for between die and IHS and some good TIM for between IHS and cooling surface.

Last nights temps were peaking at 70C. Today I changed from a manual OC to adaptive mode, additional turbo voltage 1.250v and Auto (0) offset. I also fiddled with IA AC/DC load line settings as apparently these will keep your voltage from going crazy. It's possible my manual OC voltage was overshooting way more than I was aware of leading to the higher temps.

The above temps are after 1 hr of AC origins 3440x1440 90 fps and this game will suck your rig dry. This game runs way smoother with the 8700K but I still think it lacks optimization (Ubisoft) In some parts it's maxing out all 12 threads, I don't like that!

I will definitely get around to upping the OC at some stage and running some proper stress tests. We'll see where thermals sit then!
