My best advice to you is to set everything to stock without MCE and run all the stress tests you can for a fairly long time to make sure everything is working right and stable. Take it from an old time overclocker, or an old overclocker, if you are not stable at stock, you will never have a stable overclock.
Do take Steve's advice as he know what he is talking about. Steve and a few (many) other here have helped me in the overclocking department for ages now and I would not go anywhere else for help.

In the US there`s a company called Silicon Lottery that does it and Cliff used a company in Europe, I`m sure he`ll see and post it, I`ll try to dig it up.

I`ll also try to find the youtube video with the tool, there are a couple out there.

Personally, I would have it sent out, let them delid and bin it. I know that may difficult in your area.

I believe this is the company Cliff used, he had his delidded and lapped.

    Delid Die Mate 2 | der8auer ECC

Rockit 88 Delid Relid tool (Follow Along) - YouTube

    8700K Delid Undervolt - 20C° Drop! - YouTube

Just bare in mind, delidding voids the warranty.

    @AddRAM

The Rockit is a popular one. I guess that these are pretty much fail safe in terms of popping the lid off? They look to be machined very precisely.

I considered Silicon Lottery but the $NZ conversion was too high.

By the time you buy the tool and liquid metal.. not to mention can you give yourself a 1 year warranty

It was probably only worth getting the Silicon Lottery guaranteed 5.0 or 5.1 chip and at that point I was looking at around $700 NZD I payed NZD $570 for the 8700K I have which is already expensive.

In hindsight maybe the extra cost may have been worth it. I will likely pay for the delid tool in US dollars.

Really? The Rockit tool actually has a failure rate?

How do you get international shipping at Caseking.de? The shopping cart only list euro countries as shipping destinations.

It would appear that Caseking aren't offering international shipping. Further more no one including Amazon currently have stock. May have to look at the Rockit delid tool.

I have no idea. I've never dealt with them. I just thought I'd throw it out as a suggestion.

Did you not use the Delid Die Mate 2? Or did you buy it from somewhere else?
