    My best advice to you is to set everything to stock without MCE and run all the stress tests you can for a fairly long time to make sure everything is working right and stable. Take it from an old time overclocker, or an old overclocker, if you are not stable at stock, you will never have a stable overclock.

    @essenbe

    There are a ton of Bios settings I have not even looked at in detail yet and I have not even had a decent gaming session yet!

    Auto settings did report around 1.12v in the Bios, may have been less, but HWiNFO was reporting 1.439v. I am currently using a manual override of 1.250v and 47 core clock synced on all cores.

    This results in a static voltage. I do prefer adaptive voltage on the desktop and this can be achieved with C-States when using manual mode. Adaptive voltage should work with Adaptive or Offset mode also. The 4790K had issues with that.

    1.250v may be too low for 4.7 stable, I need to run a good gaming session.

    Adaptive and Offset are 2 different things and VID and Vcore are 2 different things.

    1 hr heavy gaming, not too bad temp wise. A good 5-8C higher in the peaks vs my 4790K. Averages are not too bad all.

    Are you delidded Essenbe?

    Yes, I am. It makes all the difference in the world to these CPUs. Those aren't bad temps.

    I think I am keen to do the same sooner rather than later. When I get half a chance I will look at a delid tool.

    I am running my Hero X at 4.8 and my voltage is 1.25 (manual). My temps at idle are 31c as I am typing this. My maximum temps running prime95 was 70c. Running my games I usually run in the early 50's.

    Hi,
    If one uses manual vcore it should also say the say setting as VID always has for me anyway
    If on auto vcore VID number will vary.
    Just keep in mind the TjMax is 100c and 70c isn't bad if you want to save a little switch to by core usage :)

    That's strange Mike. I never run with Vcore and VID the same. Maybe some other settings we use.

    Hi,
    I generally on x299 run at a manual override vcore and adaptive on cache on + symbol similar to what you shared to me for x99 a while back just on fully manual instead of vcore offset mode with + symbol.... and vid is the same as what I set the override too.

    On x99 now with better cooling I use mostly all auto and just change the multiplier and disable some stuff and play with digi... stuff so the x99 vid will vary.
