CPU cooler ?

Thinking of updating the mobo and cpu on one of my machines - not one listed in my specs.

Mobo and CPU - have an ANTEC 900 ATX mid-towercase.

Never did much OC'ng and would like to try using the ASUS software suite to "crank" this thing up a little.

What might be a good CPU cooler to use? Never used a water cooler, willing to try one.

This on current X-99 machine - not sure if it is enough.

Great advice Geneo, on the OCing part I would recommend you search guides. Dont use AI software, use the BIOS

As an old retired reviewer of motherboards, I highly recommend you learn to OC through the BIOS and avoid the ASUS A1 suite software completely.....once it is installed it will be an adventure to clear it from your system........When I reviewed for ASUS on their ROG forums I did use their A1 Suite but only for the reviews......

Interesting. I have used the BIOS on several boards and also the A1 suite. The suite seems to crank things up more.
I know next to nothing about OC'ng and probably should do a lot more research.

I did look at the coolers Geneo (thanks Geneo) suggested - have to measure the case - it is not a very big case compared to the Cool Master Stryker - I could just about life that critter -

No final decisions have been made on this project - time for more research and suggestions. I am pretty set on CPU and mobo though.

If you manage good results with the software, I think its great for Validation on a O. The BIOS suggestion is for daily OC. Looks like you will have a really nice build, looking forward to your results.

The 8700K Turbo`s to 4.7 out of the box, the only thing you should do is Sync the cores, it`s done in the Bios, and leave it at that.

I recommend the following Two:

NZXT Kraken X62 (If you like RGB) or the Corsair H115i. Both are 280mm Rads

Thanks to all who posted suggestions here, lots of options to pick from. My 1st car cost $400, this build might exceed that -
