First time pc building

Hey guys, i plan on building a pc within the next few days. I want to play games on 1080p ultrawide but i don't know if the ideal build below is decent. Hopefully the list below will be good for that and not missing anything. Any advice would be golden for me! I am still deciding whether to get the GTX 1060 or 1070. Sadly, due to price spikes and low supply, gpu has risen up way too high. But for now, i can get these parts and gpu later. I am trying to aim for a somewhat budget build. Not going all out.

Any advice would be very much appreciated! I already have a keyboard and mouse, so i wont list them here. My aim is to hopefully spend around $1,000 for a build. I also wouldn't mind going for a radeon gpu that does over 60fps on 1080p ultrawide monitor.

Some watercoolers AIO's (All in Ones) have a need for USB2 header for different reasons. I did not study your board in detail.

Not sure how many case fans are include with case, looks like it comes with 200mm in front.

I assume you ran PSU through a calculator.

You likely already did this but make sure memory is listed as "Approved" by MB maker, save yourself some grief.

This actually somewhat helps me get the 400W over the 500w. Saved a few bucks there. Thanks. Now to do more research. Now to research gtx 1050 ti on a freesync monitor.

One thing I would also do as I research is actually look at the manual for your MB and maybe even a competitors. If this is first build you want documentation.

Of course! Thanks. I assume you mean a cpu heatsink with fan? Or a water block for cpu? I might consider a liquid cooling. I have been looking at both gtx 1050 ti and gtx 1060 3gb for budget gaming.

And i have been looking into this water cooling kit for both cpu and gpu.

First, you stated your budget is around $1000. The monitors you are considering will take up most of that. Having said that, the Acer Predator and the ROG Swift use the same panel. The only difference then is the build quality. Just giving you another shopping option.

Do you have a specific reason for wanting an ITX build? If so, go for it. I've seen some really great ITX builds. But there are some downsides as well. The small form factor comes with a lot of space limitations. Will the case be big enough in case you want to upgrade to a full sized higher end graphics card? Because of the size limitations most ITX boards do not have some features found on ATX boards. How much space is available for a CPU cooler? Does it restrict your choices? Some coolers, usually it will.

Pretty much the same with ITX cases. They have the reputation of not having very good air flow simply because of size and the form factor make everything inside an air flow restriction. Plus, this being your first build, they are very difficult to work in.

The PSU quality is something to never skimp on. It is the life blood of your whole build. The power rating is the maximum power output for the PSU and most will never run at that for long periods at a time. Plus the size you choose will affect any future upgrades you decide to make. For example, if you choose the 400W PSU, that would rule out a 1070 or 1080 graphics card, most of them recommend a 500-550 watt PSU. If you are trying to save some money, your Power Supply is not the place to do it. Quality is everything.

The case manufacturer you selected is, in my opinion, the best manufacturer right now. I know there are a lot of others with differing opinions, but that's OK. I own /owned 3 Phanteks cases and they are really great. I sold one of my builds in a Phanteks case. That's the only reason I have only 2. I would suggest you read the user reviews of any case you choose to get as well as look closely at them. How many fans does it have and what kind of airflow will you get? For a case with a closed front, where is it pulling air from? If it does not have access to outside air, it doesn't matter how many fans you put in it. They can not push any air across your components.

For a gaming rig, your CPU is important, but the GPU is much more important. You need the best GPU you can afford. That being said, I understand completely about the GPU market and the ridiculous prices they are asking. I should sell my cards if they think they can get those prices. :) But, the fact still remains, the GPU is the most important component in a gaming rig.

Just a few things for you to think about and to take into consideration. These are just my opinion, which I value very highly. Others, not so much, but my opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it. :)

I only referred the $1,000 for the build, not the monitor. Monitor pricing will be separate.

And i want an itx build because i like the form factor of a small machine but some what powerful. I can relate to something like that because i have that type of personality, small but strong.

As for the PSU, i only considered 1050 ti and 1060 3gb. Im leaning more towards 1060 3gb since it performs a bit better. Just finding one at a normal price is impossible now due to miners. I saw a few OC 3gb 1060 performace and i like it for the price (use to be about $250-275).

Just FYI that motherboard has a $30 rebate card on Newegg.

Another note on ITX motherboards - many of them, like this MSI, have the m.2 slot on the bottom, which is extremely annoying if you just want to upgrade your SSD and your motherboard tray doesn't expose it. It looks like the Phantek has a large-enough cutout that it should expose the slot. Just something to watch out for if you choose another case.

I am fine with that. I just want a 256 gb for OS and apps/programs while the sata ssd will be used to store media and games. And will look into that, thanks.
