It all depends whether you wan a constant 12 volts for top speed of the pump all the time or you want the pump speed to be regulated by (PWM).
Most will chose (PWM)
Your motherboard manual should show you the positions for fan headers on the motherboard and what they do.
I personally run all fans and water pumps at 100%. Most don't. It's your choice.
You can try it both ways and monitor the temps.
Note:
If you don't have quality fans, 100% all the time will probably be very noisy.
If you don't use the CPU fan connection you will probable get a warning (F1) every boot.
My Asus motherboards have a option in bios to turn off (F1) warning because I don't use the CPU fan connection.
Always keep your motherboard manual very handy.

Did you read the manual ?
What cooler did you buy ?
Some pumps are powered by Sata, some are not. But there should be a 3/4 pin plug coming from the pump, that goes to the cpu fan header on the board.

oh wow i never even knew about that.. i was wondering where you found that till i noticed i had to stay on the webpage for at least 20 seconds for it to load everything.
so system fan 3 can be used for water pump. also this is why im asking.. the motherboard manual makes no mention of water cooling pump at all.. nor does the AIO installation guide.
yeah its a 3 pin. but like i mentioned above. the motherboard manual has no mention or reference to a AIO water cooling radiator what so ever...
hence why i asked.
also its a coolermaster seidon 240v.
I would never hook up a water pump to the system fan 3 header, the cpu fan header is clearly marked at the top of the board, I can`t believe it doesn`t have one, if not just use a water pump header and see if your software reads the pump speed.
You have to read the cooler manual, a motherboard manual has no idea what type of colling you are going to use, to tell you where to hook things up, but the motherboard manual should have a clear picture of where every connection is.
It goes Right here :
the screenshot you shared where it says 4 fan/water pump connectors. is exactly where system fan 3 location is.
also yeah i know where all the connector locations are. but the CPU fan id imagine is for the pwm slitter cable for the 2 fans. also there is no manual that came with the AIO cooler. its just a simple pictured installation guide. and at the end it shows connecting the connectors. but gives no indication on what to connect to exactly beside CPU fans
this is literately all that comes with it in terms of instructions and a warrenty info. https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon....1C9vhcVcvS.pdf
No, there is supposed to be a 4 pin splitter for the the PWM fans coming from the pump, and there is also supposed to be another 3 or sometimes 4 pin connector coming from the pump that goes to to the cpu fan header on the MB.
well ive just had the most disappointing experience ever. i go to fit the radiator for the case.. and it wont even close.. that or its completely blocking the ram. so i cannot completely enclose the case.
i would go and return it for another case but i have nothing else within budget to get which is very ****ing sad.
