    Yup, I just look at those prices and my herz mises a few k'nocks. My Ryzen cost me about 350 bucks.

    Wow that IS a good deal, and a really good PSU. Probably overkill for most though, and wouldn't run very efficient, as PSU's need to run at an 80% load. (hence the 80+ ratings).

    You would need a system that runs at a constant 1280 watts.

    Ya for most of what we build, 850 to 1200 watts is plenty enough.

    80+ Gold rating means the PSU can deliver over 80% efficiency over the full range of power draw. In this case it means about 100-1600W power (there's a minimum where efficiency is poor) will be converted at above 80% efficiency.

    EVGA SuperNOVA G2 1600 W Review

    Postnote: It's a bit more complicated than said above, but basically the measurements are taken at 20%, 50% and 100% loads. There's 80+, 80+ Bronze, -Silver, -Gold and -Platinum ratings. They all deliver at least 80% efficiency at above mentioned measurement points and 80+ is barely capable of 80% efficiency, while platinum is closer to 90%.
