Depends on your "Everyday life" but I switched from 1600x, to 1700x to 2700x and it's worthwhile for me specially when I switched to x470 MB and 3600MHz memory. Now everything is working at full speed and mostly automatically. CPU boosts to 4.25 - 4.3GHz and RAM works at full 3600MHz speed which is a dream comparing to old setup.
Where old setup had to be overclocked and fought harder to get full performance, now it can be achieved and overachieved virtually automatically with no effort.
    Best 1700x performance:
    Attachment 212247
    2700x performance:
    Attachment 212248
Thanks for the reply. I have 3200 MHz memory. I think it's okay for Ryzen.

Here is a new review of the Asus Maximus XI Extreme board, only price I found right now was for 599.00

If I end up feeling I need a new Z390 motherboard, I'm going with this: Z390 AORUS XTREME (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global

It has everything except a PLX chip

Well I suppose its a nice board, I am not a fan of them. But I know I can't change your mind on what board you want, so....I'll have fun later beating the crap out of it. Asus Rules and always will.

You won't have to much of a heating problem with the board you have now Cliff, (unless you oc it too much) but you will be limited to how much you can OC your chip. Because of the heat issue it will have. (VRM's)
