Cliff, what AddRam advised you is correct. Set defaults before and after the swap. If you have the profile saved in bios, just load it after. A lot of things can change with a new chip.
- So set defaults
- then reboot
- shutdown,
- swap chip
- load non-overclock BIOS settings
- check in windows
- then start OCing the hell out of it
Pretty much yes. I would run it and test it at stock first to make sure everything is OK and get some base numbers, then start overclocking.
