Thanks Steve, I originally had it pre-ordered for release date but cancelled it. It's now £51 ($67) cheaper which pleased me. Am sure the install and Windows install will be quick, it's just getting all my favourite programs etc back on that pains me! I want to do a clean install on it though so I will have to endure the misery lol.

Or will such a drastic change (motherboard, CPU and RAM + M.2 drive) require me to go through the pain of reinstalling and updating Windows and all my apps?

OS is Windows 10 Pro x64.

Am sure Steve will be able to help better with this or anyone else for that matter as I am a mere amateur but I am pretty sure on stuff like Mobo and CPU changes you will have windows activation issues, you might be able to get round this contacting MS but it sound's pretty painfull with all the driver changes on top of that. Any reason not going for a clean install with all the new hardware and just backing up all important stuff like files and game saves etc?

Yes, that's exactly what I did coming from SATA SSD to 960Evo. I had MR backup anyway so I just restored it to M.2.

Obviously a clean install is the best thing to do, but the pain....

Actually re-imaging a good working system is better than clean installing.
In the end it's less writes(from updates) and all system files and 3rd party programs are placed neatly in the virgin blocks/cells, and not scattered waiting for garbage collection and trim.#

Plus less chance of hiccups along the way.

Just remember to get the Samsung NVMe driver: SSD Tools Software | Download | Samsung V-NAND SSD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

And run winsat formal in command prompt, and reboot, so Windows can see the disk speed and know you have an M.2.

Also in BIOS make sure you have your M.2 PCIe Bandwidth Configuration: set to [X4]
