Give it a try sometimes. It's not the same as a system restore. It's almost like a clean install where you keep your programs and data installed. Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade Installation Upgrade Tutorials

Well congratulations @copiertech25 !!!
In my opinion there is nothing wrong with off the shelf PCs.
I have had some really nice ones.
My Lenovo, which I still have as a backup, is really good for virtualization, I just can't run as many as the one I built is all, but one at a time is enough too.
It's just not for gaming(which I don't do anyhow), or benchmarking.

Another thing to try is running a native boot virtual hard disk(VHD), just ask @Kari where the tutorial is.
That way you can install windows and any hardware tools, benchmark software, and turn off all unneeded background services and internet stuff running, uninstall all the store apps, or even the store it self, to totally reduce and uneede system activity.

No need to activate, as you are only using it to bench, and probably will need to recreate after as while.

Another, less gray zone way is, if your system has a Hypervisor like Hyper-V, VMWare, or Virtualbox, and download a Windows 10 VM here: Free Virtual Machines from IE8 to MS Edge - Microsoft Edge Development then create a VHD with that.

I've already pushed his new rig to the limits to see how it performs. It does really well.
I have this evil plan in the back of my head to buy a case, powersupply, good motherboard, and an AIO 240mm cooler and move all the good stuff in the Dell to it.

You can use those free virtual machines, or rather the virtual hard disks they contain as native boot VHD as shown on video I mentioned above. No need for Hyper-V or other virtualization software.
