I think they are probably hacked accounts. I suspect it will disappear shortly. That's not possible. Lowest price I can find on Amazon is around $1350.00 as I recall. Of course, that is just as crazy as the $50 price. Heck, I was thinking I may sell mine at those prices. Do you realize you can buy a Titan XP for less than a 1080 TI?
Until they figure out how to stop the miners from buying up every card in sight or the bitcoin market completely crashes, they won't go down.
I was reading an article about it last night. The miners are just buying anything and everything they can find. The article said they were even renting 747's to transport the cards to their mining farms, if you can believe that. 1 bitcoin is worth about $11,000 right now.
That was why I liked that Nvidia is asking retailers to sell to gamers and not miners. NVIDIA Asks Retailers To Stop Selling To Miners Sell To Gamers Instead
How? It high now because of supply and demand because miners are buying up everything. It's killing the computer business. If you want to build a top gaming rig right now, it is cost prohibitive with the prices of all cards and the prices of DDR4 memory.
If there was stock in retail stores the prices would come down. Plus,, it's a little self serving to do that if you look at long term. When the coin market crashes, which it usually does eventually, the miners will be dumping cheap used cards all over the market which will stop people from buying new ones.
It's the miners buying cards that drove the market prices higher in the first place. Stopping that will bring the prices back down. If there are cards sitting on the shelves in stores, prices will come down if retailers want to sell them. Sure, there will be some scalpers, but there always have been and always will be.
