I think part of the problem with me is the 8700K hasn't been out long enough to know where the voltage limits are. There is some point where you can begin to degrade the CPU. I just don't know where that is right now. I have a decent chip and see little reason to ruin it just to gain a few points in a benchmark.

Its very strange when benching with TimeSpy, My CPU goes up as you would expect it too but my Nessie drops from around 11K to 10.5K which results in lower overall score.

Agree totally with your Steve. I have mine running @ 4.8GHz (4.4 Cache) with 1.24v Adaptive and LLC = 6.

I Will come back to this strange problem sometime soon. Could have just been a Driver problem or system config problem.

I'm running mine at 4.8 as well, just with offset voltage. I was reading somewhere that on some of the Asus boards, Adaptive was not working right.

Will give that a try as it may suite me better. May I ask the voltages input?

Offset + .105 LLC 5 I'll send you my bios settings if you like. I run 5+ on Manual voltage. I feel it gives more control when getting higher clocks. I ran this for a few minutes just to keep up with voltages if it helps.

My setting for my 4800 OC:

Are you using a AVX of -3?
