Tnx, updated.
Hi.
I want to look at the internals of my PC's BIOS without hosing it.
Any suggested programs that can do this?
Thanks.
What do you mean? You can go into bios and look at the settings anytime you want to. Maybe I don't know what you mean.
I can get by, but I was looking for an ASCII dump BIOS utility.
Problem is that I have an Intel BIOS on two systems that don't support USB Boot (and it says so!)
Seeking an alternate BIOS that would support USB Boot.
Motherboard ID: MQ96510J.15A.0379.2007.0913.1948
Motherboard Name: Intel Love Valley DP965LV
Any ideas?
Yes, have you tried updating your BIOS? That MB has a REALLY OLD BIOS.
Try this one: Intel BIOS Update [MQ96510J.86A.1709.2007.1010.1926]
NOTE: .86A means the OEM is Intel, while you have .15A which means OEM is Gateway 2000. The board and the BIOSes should still be the same and thus makes the Intel BIOS compatible with your LV board. Try it at your own risk though, since I can not test this and verify it for you.
Thanks!
Yes, I know the BIOS is that old, lol!
The board is a DP965LV and the new BIOS that you suggested is for a Intel DP065LT.
So I need to understand the naming difference between the 2 mobo's and if the new BIOS has USB boot support.

Question for you:
Where did you find the information that deciphers the BIOS? - See your "NOTE" above.
That is useful information to me.
I want to throw Linux on this old box, via USB - just for fun.
Much appreciated :)
