M.2-heatsinks review: which SSD-cooler performs best?

To start off with the main question of this article: yes, the m.2-heatsinks that are included with your motherboards actually work! Not all of them are equal, but in all cases they result in a decrease in temperatures and a substantial increase in performance. The horror stories about heatsinks that isolate instead of transfer heat do not appear to be true, at least in our tests.

    Hi,
Looks like I might get my x99's corsair dominator 2666C15 memory back this morning from a long rma process
They may have just sent back what I sent them
But no telling one stick would disappear no matter which slot it was in on either xmp profile 1 or 2 :/

Also corsair did not ship them together but I rma'ed my h110i gt too since I did the ram rma
It shipped today from china of all places guess corsair doesn't carry anything in the u.s. :/
Either way it will be sold as new rma'ed product on eBay asap :)

Buty either way with the new ram and the 1080ti in the x99 might do some benchmarks with it :)
Titan Xp sure is a bummer at benchmarking all lower than 1080ti except time spy only a meager 200 point higher

    Hi,
Got on email alerts for another evga 1080ti ftw3 if I get one this week I'll send back the titan
I have 2 weeks before the return expires to NVidia really 30 days but what ever I got the titan last Friday

800.us 1080ti with water block is still a lot cheaper and probably performs just as good being in steamy Texas with no intention of getting a water chiller

New AMD Ryzen desktop processors with VEGA integrated graphics. I'm going to be building one of these for myself.
They are being released on Valentines Day.

    Hi,
Did this for someone on ocn just to show you guys why I'm leaning towards the 1080ti

    Hi,
I wish air for air cooling the titan was a lot better

It is marginally better in a few benchmarks 3Dmark I didn't save any links but indeed clocks I do not think 3Dmark is accurate
All I can say is I was set at +100 core and +600 memory and that is pretty much a little higher than I could do on the 1080ti ftw3
Clocks shown in 3DMark were always Core 1505 Mem 1576

So water cooling a 1080ti would likely do the same as a titan but in some water might do better for the 1080ti
PM if you have a evga 1080ti ftw3 icx that hasn't been disassembled lol you'd have to throw in some cash too though

Near the arctic circle titan might keep cool enough not to throttle :/

Well if it were here there'd be no problem, it's 29 and snowing, you could just use that PC outside
