Really?
Hi,
wow is about all I can say about that one
Tom's hardware I might never visit that site again lol what were they thinking = were they offering commission codes to use ?
I never go to Toms unless their name comes up in a search. As for the video in question, while I agree with most everything Steve Burke said about the editorial, I think it was somewhat unusual. It is not very common for a well respected and reputable YouTube Channel to make a video really making fun of and ridiculing another large online publication. I was just wondering, as I watched the video if there was something going on between Steve and Toms or the author. Honestly, that was not the first absurd article ever written on the internet. Even though Steve was correct in most, if not all his observations, it was unusual to 'take on' another rather large online site. Just my 2 cents. We may have just seen the start of an online food fight.
The deeper I dig into this RTX technology, the more convinced I am that I should buy 2 x RTX 2080 Ti and an nvLink. Even the Quadro RTX 8000 does not seem that expensive in the end. Fascinating stuff!
I had a great chuckle when I read that article. Guy should just admit he is shilling for nvidia and be done with it. "Just buy it", lmao. When someone other than nvidia shows me what it can and can't do then I would look at it, not a second before and most surely not on that jokers word.
So many things are needed to take advantage of the RTX card it's only for people with Burning pockets HDR i don't even think 2% of computer owners even have one (HDR Monitor ) so that is a strike and the Ray Tracing seems gimmickish to me because when you are playing unless it's a cut scene will not be admiring anything if you want to survive
RTX has nothing to do with HDR and 4K, although it helps a lot for that too. What it means for most gamers, is that performance will be hugely better. Rasterization will still be used in 99.99% if all titles and Ray Tracing will just complement these techniques on hardware that supports it.
Edit: In order to understand the technology, one has to first understand how a 3D world is projected to a 2D screen and then understand how this can be made faster using RTX technology.
