    Highend gaming machine (black/green themed)

I've build a gaming pc for someone a few years ago and he's in need of an upgrade. He had a tight budget at that time so the PSU isn't up for any heavy upgrades, the case isn't capable of cooling the stuff he has in mind to get it upgraded with. Basically I'd need to replace everything in it apart from the storage.

So he gave me a budget of 2000-2500 euro's to build a completely new rig.

The theme is black with green accents (his wish, not mine). After some messaging back and forth, we've come up with this so far

    Case, looks and power supply
    NZXT H440 New Edition (black/green)
3x Corsair AF140 (painting the white rings green, other idea's welcome)
NZXT Kraken X61 watercooler with RGB colour on the pumphousing/cpu block
Coolermaster V750 for power (to much, but I want it anyway in case of future upgrades)
1 set of black/green Cablemod cables compatible with Coolermaster's V-series

    As for the main hardware
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB solidstate drive
Still to decide on harddrive for bulk storage
    Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR4 with RGB LED's
    Core i7 7700K
    MSI Z270 SLI motherboard

This totals out at 1295 euro's

I'm still looking for a graphics card that fits the theme. I'm not keen on taking it apart and painting the cooler or whatever. A green themed card is hard to find, same problem with motherboard (there's a Gigabyte G1 Sniper something board, but its an older generation). So decided on going all black for both, no LED's on them to make the green on other parts stand out. I prefer Nvidia, I don't really care for a motherboard but I'm an MSI fan.

    Any ideas are welcome

    Hi,
I'd dump the Kraken x62 not noticed any x61
It has horrible reviews of dead pumps a crap rma support
Get a corsair it's about the only one worth bothering with of any version.

    Yep green theme :)

The X61 is 5 euro's cheaper then the X62 couldn't really notice any difference tbh.

Didn't know they where shite, thx for the headsup, I was considering replacing my H110i with an NZXT for the looks (black/red theme on my pc). On the other side, it has a 6 year warranty on it. And I don't have to **** about with NZXT, just with the webshop where I bought it.

I could get a H115i and paint the Corsair layin on the pump green.

I imagine this isn't in his budget, but.... it would go with his color scheme.

    EVGA - Products - EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 ELITE GAMING, 11G-P4-6796-KR, 11GB GDDR5X, iCX Technology - 9 Thermal Sensors & RGB LED G/P/M - 11G-P4-6796-KR

The normal TI's, and I believe the 1080's, have controllable colors on the LED's.

Here's mine while I was playing around with colors. The picture does not show it well, but it is very green, the case LEDs too.

I don't even think we can order straight from the manufacturer here in Europe, its all through webshops. Because I buy something at the webshop, the webshop is required by law to handle the warranty, send me a new one and then fight it out with the manufacturer.

Oh yes, his current pc has a Windows 8 OEM license on it, upgraded to Windows 10 I think.

Don't think I can transfer that license to his new pc. Oh well, Windows 10 isn't that expensive (a download only version is like 20 euro's for 64-bit Pro)

    Hi,

I might also rethink the power supply too
Not sure which brands you guys have over there
EVGA P2 or T2 or Corsair AX series are pretty much the best
Seasonic above gold series are the best wattage wise I believe 750-850w would be fine.

I want the powersupply to be compatible with Cablemod's cables. I know the Coolermaster's V-series powersupplies is and I like those powersupply's, they are good quality.

We can get pretty much anything you guys can get.

FYI: if you don't know what Cablemod is, its a company that sells sleeved powersupply cables for a range of Corsair, bequiet!, Superflower, XFX, EVGA, Seasonic, Silverstone and Coolermaster units. I guess they just order a bunch of stock cable kits for all kinds of powersupplies and sleeve them to be sold again.
