At this time I would do that for her lol

Update on this nasty motherboard: each time i reboot I have to keep setting up the fans as the board keep telling me that they have changed.

Have you gone into bios to set the fans up?
I mean have you set any of the headers to "ignore"?

The board detects then as PWM as they are and know how to treat them but keep forgetting them on reboot. I have manually set them up in the BIOS and in the Fan expert SW.

Try uninstalling AI Suite, totally clean it out of your system(Registry, User App Data, and the hidden Program Data folder),
reinstall it, but only select the modules you really need if any(or don't reinstall it and let BIOS handle everything, which I will eventually do).

It could be AI Suite is also screwing up your memory at boot.

Tried that Cliff and still no go.... I do like AI Suite to control my fans with several profiles (Low, Medium and Gaming)

A few reboots now and the board has got its act together in regards to remembering what the fans are doing and their placement. All good in that corner.

One thing I forgot to mention was that when I replaced the fans I also took the opportunity to replace the TIM. Once finished I plugged everything back in and turned on system. The system went a bit flaky on power up. I forgot to plug in the USB and other connectors to the Kraken X62 pump so I power down and plugged them all in. That is when the noticed the above mentioned problems. Would not have thought that this could have somehow cause these problems. What do any of you think?

When you redid the thermal paste, did you take the CPU out of the socket to clean it?
Maybe a pin or two got bent
God I hope not, but with a razor blade you can sometimes fix that.
