Motherboard Fault

Hi All and sorry I have not been more active over the last few months.

I need your help.

I have today installed my new Noctua Chromax fans in my system and when I turned it on I got the "MEM OK" light showing (Solid Orange). Looking in the manual this indicates that a module is not seated correctly so I re-seated them all. Still the light shows. I used the MEM OK test function built in the board but still it shows and no boot. I pulled 1 stick out and it booted fine so I tested the other stick and again it booted fine.

Only time the board boots is when only one stick is in the second closed slot to the CPU.

I have checked all connections in and around the board and I have no knocked nor damaged the board in any way.

I even re flashed the BIOS lol

Update: After some more testing the system will only boot with One stick in the second slot (any of the Two sticks)

Interesting. With one stick you are supposed to use the furthest slot and then with two the second closest.

I noticed you pushed Mem OK. Did you push until LED started to flash?

@Caledon Ken Only boots with the single module in DIMM_B2 only. but will try it all again to be sure.

When I used the Mem OK button the LED flashed for some time and then returned to a solid light. Tried this several times.

Try a different bios then the one you are using maybe. CMOS reset, pull battery from board for a few mins.

Tried the older 0430 Bios and the same results flashed the newest 0605 but still the same. Battery been out for over 20 mins on several occasions during but no success.

Update:

• I have stripped this PC down and checked any and all possible broken connections and tracks and the like and none was found.
• Eliminated the chance of shorts in the system and am confidant that their are none.
• Looked at the DIMM slots to see if any connection was damaged and none was found.
• Delidded the CPU again and cleaned and relidded also checking that their was no bent of fault in the CPU substrate, none found.
• Flashed several older BIOS's (Known to work) but none solved problem.
• Tested the RAM modules in each slot one at a time and any of the two stick will only boot the PC in slot 2 and no combination using both stick will pass the BIOS Mem test so no boot.

My conclusion is that something went wrong with the motherboard.
