Thanks, Nigel
I will go ahead; it will probably be tonight after all users are off the LAN; so I will see what tomorrow brings!
Thanks

We'll be here if you notice anything that's not been mentioned, But hopefully all will go smoothly :)
OK, all done and dusted, I think. I was worried at first because I could not get onto the net but it took a few minutes to settle down. All the Apple devices have been rebooted along with the PCs and I can now see my device along with everything else. I have not actually connected to use the device yet, that will be tomorrow - but all points to a successful situation.
I am most grateful to you (all) for your help/comments and especially to NavyLCDR for getting to the root of the problem and Nigel for the detailed blow-by-blow support.
I will, of course!, comment if anything untoward happens tomorrow.
Thanks all
Alan
All of the answers to that product are at Lenz 23151 LAN USB Interface for PC and MAC - YouTube http://www.aandhmodels.co.uk/the-len...stem-966-c.asp The device requires software in order to access it for the DCC. You need to always read the product insert or if you purchased it on eBay or some other way, the seller should have included the information on how to set that up.
Well, all OK today so thanks for all the help; the learning is much appreciated.
Bro67: Your reference to the videos at A&H Models (where I bought the 23151) misses the fact that there is precious little about a LAN interface and it is very much about using the USB interface. I do have some issues with this but this is not the forum in which to raise them.

Alan
