LAN -200mbit- -patchcable Cat 7- connection slower than WLAN -400mbit-

    Hy guys,

i am at a total loss and the combined brainpower of all of you knowledgable people out there is my last hope. If anybody who is reading this got any idea what i could do to fix this phenomenon.... I would very much appreciate it.

    The facts:
I got an internet connection with 400 mbit down / 25 mbit upload.
    I am connected via a 6490 FritzBox.
The Internet connection is stable and seems to be running at full speed on my mobile phone which is connected via WLan:
LAN -200mbit- -patchcable Cat 7- connection slower than WLAN -400mbit--screenshot_20171120-154802.png
My Desktop PC with an ASRock Z77Pro3 Intel Z77 So.1155 Dual Channel DDR3 ATX - Motherboard is connected via an onboard Realtek 8168E PCIe GBE Family Controller.
I checked the Fritz box ports: 1 Gbit

LAN -200mbit- -patchcable Cat 7- connection slower than WLAN -400mbit--fritzlan.png
The specific connection is also: 1 Gbit
LAN -200mbit- -patchcable Cat 7- connection slower than WLAN -400mbit--fritzlan1.png
The fritzbox and the network card are connected via a Patchcable CAT 7
LAN -200mbit- -patchcable Cat 7- connection slower than WLAN -400mbit--20171120_154642.jpg

And the Network adapter itself is configured to 1 Gbit full duplex and showing it in the settings and on the status.
So why the hell is the download speed i am receiving only half the actual connections speed as shown in the next picture (it caps at round about 200 mbit instead of 400 mbit):
LAN -200mbit- -patchcable Cat 7- connection slower than WLAN -400mbit--gbit.png

Any ideas? I would be oh so grateful

ps: i already installed the latest driver from the original website: Realtek

    Hi and Welcome to TenForums!

How far away are you from the modem/router the computer is connected to? In other words, what is the total length of the Ethernet cable.

Speedtest is actually a poor way to monitor internet speeds. ISPs can pay them for inflated speeds and it can be a hit or miss if they are returning the correct value. Use a website like testmy.net on your phone and PC and report back the readings.

Often its full duplex thats the problem that sends and recievesat the same time 200 up 200 down total 400a lot of routers pc cant handle full duplex

Thank you very much for all your insights
The length of the cable is 2m. So its right next to each other. Its a new one too. Just bought it because i had only a Cat5e before and thought that was the issue but nope...
I tried a lot of different speed testings hence why i showed you the different results via Wlan and Cable.
They are all very similar so i just picked one. I am in germany so i tried mostly german servers for testing.

I tried testmy.net but the results are nowhere near my actual speed. i guess because its stationed in the US?!

    @Samuria
I am not sure i follow... My upload speed is a lot different than the bandwith used for the download.
And shouldn't the total exchangeable bandwith the hardware can handle be up to 1 Gbit/s?

It does not matter what type of Cat patch cables you are using. You only showed one speedtest, that one shows zero issues about what you are complaining about. The Fritzbox may be pointed to go through a certain route when it gets back to the Central Office, compared to running the Speedtest, which is only meant to be for educational use, not something to rely on as to how your connection should be all of the time.

Thats not true. I showed the results of a speedtest via WLAN and a speedtest via Cable. Hence i try to understand the issue here.
Wlan = everything fine... full speed.
    Cable = half speed... hardly

That's the issue and it does not matter how many speed tests i run or how many files i download, the results stay the same and i can't figure out whats wrong here.

Another example is downloading a file from a page like this: Download Test Files | thinkbroadband

Via Cable on my desktop pc the download rate is roughly 2.6 MB/s
Via WLAN on my phone the speed is at an incredible 45 MB/s

I can only try with 100 Mbps half duplex so...

And i figured something out, so we are a tad bit closer to solving the issue. Hold on to your seats guys:

I booted from a usb-ubuntu distribution and with that i get my full on speed.
So the problem has to be software (or directly windows 10) related.
Any suggestions what might be causing this? i got no idea

It is a windows 10 issue. I started in safe-mode with networking so i could sort out any 3rd party problems (as good as possible) and the problem persists.
Question is: what is it in windows 10 that differentiates from ubuntu (and android) and how could it be fixed?
