I am not. Can I use the built-in windows VPN connector? Something like this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...connect-to-vpn
I am trying to connect from inside the LAN. Why doesn't this work? I would think it would go outside to wan since it's a external IP, then come back in.
I have gotten neither of them to work with a router supplied VPN. I've always had to use OpenVPN to connect, and I've always had to be outside the LAN side of my network to connect.

Sorry; on my android phone, I setup tethering, then on my windows client computer, just used the windows native vpn software to attempt to connect. Here is what I am seeing:
    Code:
Options error: --ca fails with 'ca.crt': No such file or directory (errno=2)Options error: --cert fails with 'client.crt': No such file or directory (errno=2)Sun Nov 19 08:28:26 2017 WARNING: cannot stat file 'client.key': No such file or directory (errno=2)Options error: --key fails with 'client.key'Sun Nov 19 08:28:26 2017 WARNING: cannot stat file 'ta.key': No such file or directory (errno=2)Options error: --tls-auth fails with 'ta.key': No such file or directory (errno=2)Options error: Please correct these errors.Use --help for more information.
In my config file, I have this:
    Code:
    ca "C:\\Users\\user\\client\\keys\\ca.crt"cert "C:\\Users\\user\\client\\keys\\client1.crt"key "C:\\Users\\user\\client\\keys\\client1.key"
Before I just had, for e.g., ca.crt. I am not sure why it is not seeing the updated paths for the files... any ideas?

So I've gotten that installed. When I load from the config file, this is what I am seeing.

So I think I figured it out. Even after importing my modified sample config, I had to go into the Edit config after clicking on the icon in the task bar, and update that file. It was still using the default sample config file. Not sure why.
When trying to connect, I am getting this now:
    Code:
Sun Nov 19 08:42:33 2017 TLS Error: TLS key negotiation failed to occur within 60 seconds (check your network connectivity)Sun Nov 19 08:42:33 2017 TLS Error: TLS handshake failed

How are you getting the public IP address of the WAN side of your router? Also, if you have a cable or other of type of modem connecting the router to the internet, is it set to simply bridge the connection, or is it doing NAT translation as well?

The only thing my router runs to is the outside connection. There are no other network devices between them.
I am getting the static IP that is assigned by my ISP.
