my wifi network is not appearing in the list of available networks

I have already made the wlan report

I tried to attach it but it did not work....I hope it is ok to paste it here.
I hope someone can help me. I have troubleshooted my butt off and it is happening on both of my laptops so I do not understand how to fix it.

Hi Lesosweetlie. Welcome to the TenForums @lesosweetlie

I read that you trouble shot but not understanding what you did I will likely repeat.

First power off your modem and router or combo box. Wait thirty seconds power on.

Assuming you have a smart phone is your SSID appearing in the list of available networks? (Confirmation it is broadcasting)

Strange that two laptops would stop at same time so I'm looking at something common between them.

If SSID is being broadcast you can move on. You didn't say do you have a dual band router or a single band. Are both SSID's missing.

Assuming this just started recently please check Windows update history and see if network drivers were updated. If so head to Dell and get their wireless driver for your device.

Another quick thing you could try is to reset the Windows network. I would concentrate on one laptop.

Start => Settings => Network and Internet => scroll to bottom of right hand side, click reset network. Restart windows.

This process will cause you to "Forget" all wireless passwords, please consider this before executing.

If this fails and you have a removal battery, unplug from wall, remove battery, disconnect all USB devices, hold power button 30 seconds. Reassemble less the USB devices and power on. Test. Connect USB devices.

Please post back results.

Hi and thank you for your response.

I do have my wifi network appearing for my tablet and phone.

It did start recently, and I can't figure out why both are doing it.

If I do a network reset will I lose anything else but my web related passwords? like my bookmarks and favorites? for each browsesr?

Or anything else on my laptop?

I think I tried a network reset a long time ago for a separate issue and ended up having to wipe the whole thing and start fresh with windows 10 for some reason??

I can't have anything like that happen right now, I only have two weeks left in Kaplan online until I have my Assoc. degree.....so I don't want to mess anything up too badly.

I have xfinity wireless , I think it is broadband, and I am not sure about the dual band or not? It may be.

But that is all I know right now.....I tried to uninstall and reinstall network drivers and that didn't work either.

I am just glad that I can hard wire to the internet on one of them and hotspot to the other if necessary right now.

But I want to figure it out.

I am fairly techie, just not quite enough.

In fact I hope I did not screw something up somehow, but I don't know how that would have been on both computers because I use one more than the other so it does not make sense either.

I even called my ISP and they went through all the steps to get it fixed and then suggested to me that maybe both computers did an update at the same time? and it could have been problematic for them somehow??

I don't know...

But I will wait to hear from you before I do anything else.

A network reset should not impact bookmarks / favorites or history stored in browsers or cloud.

It will forget your wireless passwords and any passwords you use to connect to infinity network if part of your network config on machine. That said I imagine your router handles those if required. (Used in PPPoE networks.)

I believe all you do to connect is select network, when working, enter wifi password and connect.

Network reset may also impact any networking software you use to connect to Internet sites like VPN clients.

To date it has been "harmless" to members, apart from forgetting wifi passwords, but this is Windows, which I use and support but cannot predict given all the stuff you can install and stuff it does. We all know the strangest things can happen.

A tool you might want to research is Macrium Reflect. Free, reliable and member recommended.
