NETWORK PROBLEM: Network Credentials

I created a Workgroup for three computers in my house, all three have the same Workgroup Name and all
three show up when I open the Network tab.

BUT, when I try to access one of the other two computers, it keeps asking for "Network Credentials".

Now I Googled "Network Credentials" and got a big can of worms. Is there a simple way I can set up
"Network Credentials" on all three computers ?

Or, better yet, how can I remove the requirement to have Network Credentials ? It's only me and my three
computers.

I run Windows 10 Pro on all three, two are 64 bit, one is 32 bit.

That worked, I just needed to find where it was. After drilling down several layers in Control Panel I got it.

Same problem for me....followed instructions above on both machines in my network....but Network Credentials are still required...

I know this is an old thread, but my most recent Windows 10 update had the effect of removing Homegroups and making network computers impossible to log into. There have been many, many postings related to the effect of this update. What happens is that while the other computers can be seen, any attempt to access shared folders result in this Enter Network Credentials message. Many posts have offered suggestions, the most popular of which is to use the "\\computername\username" and the local area log on password, but none have worked. On a hunch, and because I am using a local area login and no password, rather than a Microsoft Account, I thought I would check whether this update has done a typical Microsoft ******* act, and forced people to have a Microsoft Account in order to make their local network visible. Having just come from Windows 7, the best OS microsoft have ever made, I expected they would screw up something that has worked for years and years. Yes, you guessed it, the Network Credentials user name is your Microsoft Account user name, typically an email address. The password is your Microsoft Account password. I hope that helps. Also tell Microsoft what you think of them.

I have two PC's on the network (A and B). Both start up immediately with the administrator account, so no user name, no password and no MS account. A has access to shares on B (for several years now). What I did was to create a special user account on B, only for sharing, with name and password. In A I put in these credentials when asked for (once). A remembers these credentials and with my administrator account I always have immediate access to B.

Thanks PiKo. I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in January because MS withdrew support for Windows 7. I had no troubles either until a Microsoft update in February. I am now on Win 10 - 1903 under which I first experienced the Enter Network Credentials problem. What I posted was my answer to that problem, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to figure this out. As I said I use a local area login and no password, but I also have a Microsoft Account which got me out of trouble which I never had until the update. I wonder what update level you are on currently?

I connected to the shares many builds ago, maybe even with the start of W10. After updating to newer builds I never had a problem. I am now at 1909. In my opinion credentials are part of the SMB protocol. Connection with the other PC is via SMB2. I checked that. Connection with some devices is still with SMB1 (no credentials).
