Windows 10: after 10 update now mapped drives no longer in explorer.

after 10 update now mapped drives no longer in explorer.
Well at least not exactly like they used to before the latest update.
win 10 pro on 2 computers both latest windows 10 pro. A QNAP and Synology NAS servers. Until just recently I mapped share with either NAS utility to either computer and would get the drive letter I assigned to show in Explorer as well as NET USE in Command Prompt. Now the drives only show in Command Prompt for any combination of NAS and PC.
If I then map the drive share inside Explorer the Z: \\NAS\SHARE shows up when I go to select the drive upon using Explorer's map drive after entering the NAS server's user credentials the right clicking the shared folder I want. I'd rather use the NAS utilities to still do it. Do I just have to wait for their respective utilities to be updated? Is net use in command prompt permanently divorced from showing in Explorer?
Thanks for any help in advance.

This started nback in 2015 when Microsoft got a bur up their rear and broke the OS. If SMBv1 is disabled, enable it to see if the shares show up.
