WiFi speed - right now, not max or theory

Android devices tell us what the current connected WiFi speed is. This is of interest as an extender has been installed and Android gives varying speeds, of which I would like to optimise, like by channel settings.

The W10 laptop seems not to give the instantaneous WiFi speed to help with router / extender channel selection. Is that right?

    Thank you.

Open Task Manager and click the Performance tab (you may need to click 'More details' to see the tabs). Now click on the small WiFi graph on the left to see full details on the right. You can change the refresh rate in 'View > Update speed'.

To choose channels with the least interference from your neighbours you may find the WifiInfoView utility from Nirsoft useful. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wifi_information_view.html
