    Intel 82579V Problems

Hi, 20% of cold boots end with bad initialization of NIC. All is resolved with soft reboot or disable/re-enable of course.

What drivers are used in cold boot, UEFI or Windows ones? If UEFI keep in mind latest bios from my mobo manufacturer is from 2014. If Windows, downloaded today latest Intel's, let's see...

I am using MSI Fast Boot, probably it skips network card initalization. But not always, that's the problem. It's quite random. Now thinking to use registry key in order to start os only if card is initialized: synchronous.

    Hi Be4stElectrjc.

Since Cold Boots are using Windows Fast Startup can I suggest you try this quick test. Shut off Hibernation

    Command Prompt(admin)

    powercfg -h off

If that fixes thing you can go through the process to disable just Windows Fast Startup and re-enable Hibernation. To re-enable Hibernation you use the command

    powercfg -h on

Then follow our tutorial to disable Windows Fast Startup.

    Hi,

always kept hibernation off in order to extend my SSD's life. But with Fast Startup enabled, it's on by default and i never touched, could be the culprit since it works only with hibernate option. Hybrid shutdown doesn't shut off PC, old MOBO probably.

Agree if Hibernation of Fast Startup is off. So that is not the answer. Maybe shut off MSI Fast Boot, You have an SSD so should not be a real impact.

Considering my board doesn't support hibernation (don't have S4 in ACPI options), and then indirectly Fast Startup, i can use only boot optimizations offered by BIOS. POST part is 12 seconds and Windows is 10 seconds, all this with MSI Fast Boot. Trying really to keep it if possible...

Now would like to know where Fast Boot/MSI Fast Boot apply their magic. Because should be in POST part, but listen other heads it's always helpful.

Plus Samsung Laptop takes 8 seconds to boot(2 POST, 6 Windows) with Fast Startup and w/o Fast Boot. I'm quite astonished of that. I mean of course its BIOS has 3 options in one place and 1/8 of hardware devices plugged compared to my desktop but it's always amazing to see.

Updated SATA AHCI Drivers and now Hibernation and Fast Startup work.
Network card should not have anymore problems.
