After Win 10 Creative Upgrade, Firewall Blocks Network Sharing
I am running Win 10 Pro v1703 (bld 15063.332). We have 2 PCs on our home network and after the Creative upgrade, sharing between PCs broke. After all the usual attempts to fix it since I can ping both system from each (such as DNS issues, networking issues, permissions issues, File Sharing permissions issues, discovery issues, turning off password requirements, etc), and then trying pretty much every document on the web pertaining to "Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found" (This occurs now when trying to browse to previously shared folders), I finally uninstalled all third-party antivirus and system utilities and then when that didn't work, I disabled firewall. On both machines. Though a Homegroup is still unable to be seen from either machine once created, I am now asked for login and can browse our shares and Public folders freely. However, as soon as I enable the Firewall on one machine, it is no longer reachable from the other. I have duplicated this over and over; no joy if Firewall for Private Networks is enabled. I have checked and double-checked all of the Inbound Rules and Exceptions -- even disabling and reenabling all of them just in case some setting wasn't writing itself properly to the OS. Still no luck. So, anyway, to make a long story short, I would like to get my network sharing back online with Firewall running and get the Homegroup to work again.
Please help if you can. Thank you!
