I don't think I will need to map a network drive.

Eagle51, do you have any thoughts about flmaxey's comments on SMB v.1, 2 & 3? He was concerned where the information comes from that it is safe now to use v.1 in Windows 10.

Hmm, not sure what's up with that.

    1. SMBv1 is deprecated, but it has been patched on Win10 against WannaCry and there is very little risk in using it on a home network.
    2. You don't have to use SMBv1 and can uninstall it on all your Win10 PC's, but I don't know enough about your NAS to say how that will effect it. Pretty sure it won't show in File Explorer > Network, but it might still be accessible manually or by map a network drive.
    2. SMBv1 is really for your NAS to have it show in File Explorer > Network ... as it appears it only supports SMBv1.
    3. Your Win10 PC's will use SMBv2/3 (With SMBv2 you automatically get SMBv3)

    Hey bilateral,
Not sure what version of OpenMediaVault you're running, but it looks like it's just a linux (debian) based system. So you should be able to get it to use SMBv2 / SMBv3, but it may require updating to latest version and/or updating Samba and/or editing the samba config file (smb.conf) ... Sorry, but I can't help you with all that.

Thanks again, Eagle51, I'm not too concerned about the SMB issue, and I think on Computer A this is just some kind of weird display issue. Maybe when the next edition of Win10 installs, it will disappear. So think I'll leave things as they are. I can access my NAS right now just fine. Flmaxey was wondering where the info came from that Windows10 was patched for WannaCry, so he was wanting to know that. I am content that you've checked it out.

...Don't think I mentioned on Sunday that I was about to go in Monday morning for major lung surgery! I had little idea what to expect about my ability to get back to the Forum, but things don't seem to be too bad at this point, and surgery is done and I am here already. Modern medicine can really be amazing!
