HP Officejet 8610 network connection failure after Windows 10 update

A windows 10 update arrived this afternoon, and I updated.

After the Windows 10 update the network connection to my printer HP Officejet Pro 8610 broke. My PC reports that it is not connected, but the printer believes that it is connected to the network. Can't print.

I have a laptop running Windows 10 which has not been updated today, and with the same driver edition it connects to the printer and prints. So I believe the problem is specific to the recent update.

Any suggestions to reconnect the network printer following the update?

I have an 8620 and had a problem with scan not attached. I ran the HP Scan and Print Doctor program. It said it fixed it but it still showed not attached. However, after I shutdown the PC (powered off) and then powered on and booted up it was connected. Have you tried the HP Scan and Print Doctor program (it came with my 8620).

I think this is the HP link to download it, if you don't have it.

Yes, I ran HP Print and Scan Doctor, which came up with dead ends.
    Also rebooted.

Next step (what I would do) is uninstall the HP 8610 driver software, restart the PC (don't skip this step), then do a new install of the printer software.

Another for uninstall all HP software, go into Devices and Printers to tell Windows to forget the printer if it sees it on the network. Reboot and then install the software, make sure you are able to see the printer when the software asks for which printer to use.

If this was Creators update that installed, you are basically talking about having issues with any upgrade for Windows 10 vs. a Clean install.
