Who is AKI Technologies and why is it downloading?
I'm running Win 10 Pro 64bit AE and notice that whenever I boot, I get something downloading at 64mbs for a couple of hours. I have no idea what program it's downloading to but I determined that
deploy.static.akimaitechnologies.com is the culprit.
Is this legit?

Yes and no it's used by some downloads but it then acts as p2p downloading to your PC to use as a source for others so it eats your bandwidth most consider it as malware and it should be removed

I have searched all my drives for anything related to AKI Technologies and found narry a trace. Still it's downloading using allotted bandwidth I could use for other things. Any other ideas? I'm trying to block AKI's IP addresses in Norton but what if that doesn't work?

A Whois lookup shows there is no registration for a domain named akimaitechnologies.com. Please check your spelling very carefully. Is it really Akimai or a typo for Akamai? The difference is crucial...
Akimai Corporation was founded in 1949. The Company's line of business includes the wholesale distribution of men's and boys' apparel and furnishings.

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is an American content delivery network (CDN) ... one of the world's largest distributed computing platforms, responsible for serving between 15 and 30 percent of all web traffic... When a user navigates to the URL of an Akamai customer, their browser is redirected to one of Akamai's copies of the website.

Blocking all Akamai IP addresses may cut you off from the web...

You can disable the p2p method of updates if you have capped internet or simply don't want it.
Open Settings
Update & Security
Advanced Options
Choose how updates are delivered
And click the slider to off.

Sorry, it's deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com and a search of all my drives turns up nothing but my monthly usage went from <=250gb to close to 990gb. That's a lot of game downloads.
Will try the U&S suggestion from swarfega, too.
Thanks. Let's close as solved.
