Can't display list of available wireless networks

No error given, it just does nothing when i click on the internet access icon. I checked through the network diagnostics and i can see the name, signal strength etc of assorted wifi routers on this street being given correctly, so presumably hardware is fine and driver is working.

Computer has just been moved into this area for the first time, and was working fine prior to move.

The owner had noticed it was suddenly very slow beforehand, which sounds like it was updating.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless adapter, no effect. Works fine via ethernet.

The owner doesn't know how windows 10 got on the computer in the first place, and i'm not very familiar with it myself.

I followed those steps; no effect. I can see from the diagnostics that the signal strength for multiple networks is strong and my own laptop is fine.

I also tried a usb wifi card i had spare; it installed it fine but the part of windows that displays the available network connections still will not display.

I presume that particular module is bugged.

Open up a command window and enter 'netsh wlan show all". If you are showing Access Point SSID's, then you know that things are working. If still not showing on the GUI, remove the device and driver in Device Manager for the network adapter, reboot and let Windows install the default driver.

Gave it a go; it looks like it's the win 10 connection manager that is bugged. I checked with a sniffer and could see all the routers in the area without a problem, as I expected.

I know i can manually use netsh to connect, and maybe set up a batch file to do it as the computer boots up, but it would be nice if i could fix the part of windows 10 that has failed.

Wcmsvc was running; stopped and started it to double check. I think it said automatic (triggered) or something similar - unfortunately it's not mine and it's a distance from this machine.
