    Network Sharing - 1607 -> 1703

    Hello all,

    I have a customer that is having issues with his network sharing. He has 2 laptops that he has setup for network sharing. Everything was functioning until today, which was when one of his laptops upgraded and installed the Creators Update. While on his 1607 computer, he cannot view/share anything with his 1703 computer. While on his 1703 computer, he is still able to view/share with his 1607 computer. My initial thoughts were that during the update, his computer was set to not share anything. I checked in his advanced network sharing options and everything was set correctly. Both laptops were also using the private network profile. I restarted the 1607 PC thinking that might help. Nothing has worked, so now I am asking the people of the internet for assistance.

    tl;dr: Win10 v1607 can't see Win10 v1703 for network sharing while 1703 can see 1607.

    Thank you in advance!

    P.S. If it makes a difference, 1607 is running Home while 1703 is running Pro.

    Hi zach.

    While not likely the cause I would shut off router, wait twenty secs and restart. This is not likely the cause but it is easy and it has fixed weird networking issues in the past.

    Assuming this does not resolve I think I would delete the Homegroup and re-establish.

    Thanks for your help. When I remoted in yesterday, it wasn't giving me an option to create a Homegroup (I looked). However, when I remoted in today, the option was there. I configured it between the customer's laptops and it's working!
