Network Connections folder empty 3 different PC's

Just picked up my 3rd Windows 10 for no internet complaint.
All 3 have empty "Network Connections" folders.
2 laptops, 1 Desktop, different makes.
All have Windows 10 before Creators update.
Able to do an "Install/Repair (Thanks, Brink) on 2 of them. The other one wouldn't accept the install and had to do a Factory reinstall.
3 of these in 2 weeks.
Anyone else see the same problem?
    Pete

I just had one laptop do that very thing. It wouldn't accept a new USB adapter, either. Devices were all reported fine in Device Management, but weren't listed in Network Connections. This was with a Windows 10, pre-Anniversary Edition install. Nothing worked except a refresh.

    Thanks, Deacon,
Google search shows up a few different alleged causes. VPN software, AVG,
    Maybe I'm over reacting.
