Nook e-reader - connecting to network

I own a Nook e-reader. This will connect to my WI-FI network and is, indeed, connected to it. However, my PC cannot find the Nook on the network.
    Can anyone help, please?

It is because of how Barnes and Noble have their version of Android OS locked down. You have to physically connect to it with a USB cord to a computer. There is a N2A Nook2Android that gives you more access to use it as a Nook or as a Android tablet. N2A Cards Nook2Android | Upgrade your Nook HD+, Nook Tablet or Nook Color to Android 4.4 KitKat

Thanks for all the advice. It looks as if I shall have to use a USB link, though the FTP server idea might fill the odd rainy day.

    Cheers

As I stated before, you can only connect the Nook to a computer with the USB cord, since it is locked down in the version of Android OS that Barnes and Noble uses that cripples it from being used like you can on pure Android devices. As I pointed out in the link I posted, you can use the N2A SD card to switch between the Nook crippled firmware or use a Android OS that has been created that allows you to use the Nook like the type of Android Tablet that is used by Barnes and Noble.
