WAN Internet disconnects very frequently
Hello everyone,
I have the following problem which is slowly driving me mad: About two months ago I built a new desktop PC from scratch. The relevant specs:
Mainboard: MSI B250M Mortar Arctic
Processor: Intel i5 7500
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x8GB GDDR4
Windows 10 Home Version 1607 (Build 14393.953)
From the very first boot on, my Internet (Via Cable, Mainboard has no WLAN) disconnects as shown by the Network Icon in intervals of everything between 5 seconds and 10 Minutes. After that it takes about 10 to 30 seconds to reconnect. At times This happens several times per minute, I don't think I have ever had a stable connection for longer than 30 Minutes. For the past hour: every half minute / minute.
I have tried the following:
- Checking drivers for the network adapter, should be up to date.
- Cross-checking the components: Both my old laptop and my Playstation have flawless connectivity via cable and WLAN (Same Cable, Router, Provider). So It's either the soft- or hardware of my pc.
- Looking for similar problems on the interweb... Nothing resembling found, most posts are either too old or only cover WLAN issues
- An ul/dl speed test I ran online showed the expected values as it happened to catch an uninterrupted window.
- As I said it occured from the first startup on, so it can't really be anything I installed, also resetting to an older image is naturally not an option.
I am even typing this a second time as the connection failed so spectacularily the first time I pressed submit...
While I might be good at dealing with issues in-depth, unfortunately I'm not really computer savvy. So, Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's just unacceptable as it is right now.
thank you!
