Windows 10: PLEX Media server can only see 3 on a network of 4
PLEX Media server can only see 3 on a network of 4
Not sure if this is a PLEX restriction but I seem to be able only to see 3 servers max . I'm not using PLEX pass so could it be a restriction on Ports etc.
I've got PLEX running on 4 computers A,B.C,D
On any computer I can only ever see 3 servers (All computers are visible and accessible on LAN from each other).
for example on A I can see plexmediaservers on A,B,C
on B it's servers on B,C,D
Smart TV only sees 3 as well -- although if I run VLC on say an Amazon fire stick it can see all 4 computers. VLC even shows 4 PLEX servers when browsing the LAN although when using VLC I just use the files directly from shared HDD's.
Is it possible that there is a limit on the number of servers one can have on the same account ? - all these computers are on an internal (Home) LAN and don't need to be accessed from outside.

I copied my movie library to a larger HDD on my NAS -- however PLEX media server did an entire rescan AND UPDATE again of the library - anyway to prevent re-building the DB -- nothing had changed apart from the fact the HDD was larger --...
I can't see any way of stopping PLEX Media server on Windows - simply closing the web client doesn't shut the program down - it's still there in the background.
On Linux it's easy --just a command similar to service plexmediaserver...
I'm not sure why PLEX needs full write access on your media libraries to update its database.
Only granting READ access I notice that a library update doesn't include the new media files I've added.
READ/WRITE access -- no problems.
Does anybody know if the Amazon Fire TV usb stick will allow the PLEX media server to stream movies from your computer to the TV. I was thinking of getting one of these to use in a "Non smart" but USB capable TV.
I can have PLEX...
