SO you are saying that somehow the drivers, like Elvis, left the building this morning? So when I install them again, what is to stop them from leaving the building again?

I mean you DO understand that this all worked this morning right? And I added 2 sticks of RAM and a HDD which should NOT have effected my network adapter.........

Or did i trash my drivers when I reset the network, which means we have to get back to there to see what the ORIGINAL problem was?

EDIT: I feel like Charlie Brown lol. I know you are trying to help me but I am just not getting where you are going. Plus I'm apparently not a good communicator (you are not alone, no one gets what I try to say).

Is it something I would have to enable repeatedly? Or something I disabled when I reset the internet settings? I just assumed that sinece it WAS working that the BIOS was tripped the correct way.

I know this is something stupid I did somehow lol, I just can't imagine what......

EDIT: Thanks for reminding me to read up on UEFI, I don't think it was around when I built my last rig and meant to see what it is but forgot.

You didn't answer the question if you are sure it is enabled in UEFI/BIOS. Adding a new HDD and more memory requires the UEFI firmware or BIOS to adjust itself to the new hardware. If the Ethernet LAN adapter is not showing up in device manager as either an unkown device, a device with an exclamation point, or an actual network adapter then there are really only one of two possibilities: it is disabled in UEFI/BIOS or it has physically failed.

no i am not sure.

And now I am sure. It looks like this ion my UEFI (had to look that up lol they developed it right after I built my last computer. It's the *new* BIOS).

ONBOARD LAN: Enabled

I get a message elsewhere (i can't remember , advanced network settings maybe?) that shows the LAN and shows is is not connected. Let me try to find it.

This is what I just got. This IS the speed from my COMPUTER to the speed test server right? Or is it the speed from my ROUTER to the speed test server?

If it's from my computer to the server then I don't have a problem with this WIFI thing lol, and I need to have a nice big, hot cup of shut the %$#&^% up. but I'm about to plat COD Ghost and do not wish to be laggy.
