New computer, connects wirelessly not to the wire i connected

I had to get a new computer and everything was all peachy-keen until this morning when i put my old HDD in and added 16 more gigs of RAM. I restart and it keeps connecting wirelessly. Not only that, but it won't even recognize the hard wire in the back or that I have an adapter.

I've already rebooted both the computer and router (many times) and I reset the Network adapters kind of like in the tutorial here. The one difference being that after reboot it didn't ask me public or private, it just zoomed public. This is really driving me crazy. There are a BUNCH of things that need reset that I don't remember doing when I got Win10 the first time. And yes, I got Win10 the first time from a disc, not an upgrade, I went from Vista to Win10 there was no free upgrade for me . Of course the recently deceased computer did not have wireless capabilities so this was barely an issue when I originally installed.......

Have you pressed FN then the symbol for the Wi-Fi on mine it is F3
Once I press that it shuts my WI-FI off and also in Notification and Action I can turn it off there as well
Hope that is what you are looking for

There's a couple of other things to try, one is if the Wi-Fi is on a Desktop you should be able to Disable it in the BIOS and if not try Windows Device Manager and Disable it there [did that just the other day on a computer in our church after going with Ethernet].

I can and it does, the problem is though that the wired connection isn't showing so when I cut the wifi off (or turn it to airplane mode) I then have NO internet.

Same as above. When I disable the *dualband wireless ac7260* (looked up the adapter lol), then nothing else is detected.

I would think that if it were detecting the other network card I would get a *something isn't connected* error message. I get nothing as nothing is detected.

Again, in Device Manager look at Network adapter to assure the Ethernet is Enabled.

Guess I don't know what that means. Hereis all I have. New computer, connects wirelessly not to the wire i connected-capture1.png

EDIT: That snip wasn't exactly what I wanted lol, but that is the extended network adapter section on device manager. When I click it and go to properties it says working properly.

Looks to me like you are missing a driver for the Ethernet port. This is what I have:Attachment 118960

Alright, now you are with me, where I was on post one where I said it doesn't show an adapter lol. I was beginning to think I was crazy, and didn't know another way to say what I had already said. (Don't worry, this always happens to me, no one ever understand me and I think i am crystal clear).

So now that we agree it's not showing an adapter and I am 10000000% sure I have my cat5 cable plugged into a physically there adapter that worked all day yesterday.........

Is there something i could have tripped when I was installing the RAM? When I look at the back of my computer where the cat5 plugs in the light is yellow not green. Is there a meaning for that? All I did was remove the video card so I could put another HDD is and added 2 more sticks of RAM...... I thought trhe LAN port was integrated.

This is SO frustrating lol. NOTHING can get my as impatient as fast as a computer problem when everything SHOULD work..... but it doesn't.

Where this gets worse is my old computer did the same thing for years....... the adapter suddenly wouldn't work. I had a list of steps I would do and really, in the end, it would start working when it was good and ready. Until then I was hosed. I had a USB adapter I would plug in when it acted up......... I am NOT doing that on this computer that I bought not built lol. If I don't have proper internet by the time I'm done with my chores tomorrow morning, it's going back to Microcenter.
