Temporarily change computer IP address
I'm hoping someone can advise me I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to network settings. I bought a Dahua IP Camera which comes with a fixed IP address of 192.168.1.108 and my home network is on 192.168.0.xxx. I know I need to temporarily set my computer to use an IP on the same subnet as the camera... then I can login to the camera's web settings and change it's IP address to 192.168.0.108. Then go back and change my computer back to it's original settings.
Knowing what I need to do and actually knowing how to do are two separate things. I'm using No-IP hope this doesn't complicate things. To temporarily change my computer IP address do I (1) put a dot in 'Use the following IP address (2) fill in IP address, Subnet mask, & Default gateway? Can I leave the DNS settings blank below that? Do I validate settings?
Once you get the camera on your home network how do get the computer back to it's original IP settings?
