    Bypassing Geo Blocking

What's up guys? So I'm living out here in Japan and a lot of my content is blocked from the US. Webpages I always go to, internet radio, apps on my phone, etc. Lot of stuff is geo blocked. I was looking for a way around these blocks. Ive installed many VPN apps on my phone but none of them work. As far as my computer, I have to use a VPN extension in chrome. But it's slow and only works like 1/4 of the time. Is there something I can do with my router that will "trick" all my devices and apps into thinking I'm located in the US? My PC is not on nearly enough to setup a VPN for everything to connect to nor do I want to leave it on all the time for that.

A VPN or Tor are about your only options and yes they are slow.

Do you have an internet connection and router in the US? You can set up VPNs with routers like the Netgear R7000, but your remote download speeds would be limited by the upload speeds of your home internet connect - mine is 5 Mbps upload so that is the max download speed achievable for my VPN.

    This is TOR:

i got some functionality with using a smart DNS service. i configured the DNS to my router so all my devices use it. its working for its main purpose, but some things are still blocked. still trying other solutions.

Never going to happen as long as the country that you are in controls how content is delivered to users on the various ISP networks. Welcome to Socialism Internet. You can use it when you want, but cannot use it how you want.

If you pay for a proper VPN service that has a monthly fee , some of them have instructions how to set up your router config to log onto the service which means everything that connects to it will stay connected via the router...assuming your router firmware has that option.

Set your DNS servers to googles ones as well 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

I was about to suggest a subscription DNS service rather than VPN as I'm looking at it for Kodi use. I don't know much about it but possibly quicker speeds than the much over-worked 8.8.8.8

It all depends on what you are trying to unblock, if one of them is netflix, you are pretty much out of luck as these days they are aggressively blocking all the geo workarounds, for pretty much everything else you can uses a premium DNS/VPN provider like Unblock US, Unlocator or Vypr.
