    Homegroup (again)

I have two laptops on my network, one wireless, one cabled.
Network and sharing centre, homegroups, says on the wireless one 'available to join' and if I try to join it says the homegroup is on the cabled machine and needs the password.
The cabled machine, under homegroup says 'ready to create' so I can't get the password from there.
I created a homegroup on the cabled machine and got the password, but when I try to join from the wireless machine it says wrong password.

I've deleted the homegroup I created, deleted files in peernetworking and rebooted everything but the problem remains.

Welcome to the forum. You don't need home group to share files it often gives more problems you need to check your router settings as a lot by default have user isolation set which stops you connecting to local network

So does homegroup give no advantages over 'normal' networking?
