sorry, I try hard to understand what you tell me, although it's difficult for me. I'm a bit confused, I can't fix the problem by myself.
I have given you enough to get to figuring this out. I have zero access to your equipment, same as zero access to your residence to personally show you. The problem can be easily resolved and there is enough information at smallnetbuilder.com and on here, along with Youtube videos to show you how to get into the administrative section of your Gateway.

All of us were in the same position when we first started to learn how to do this stuff. Over time from doing it, helping others, we have been able to utilize that knowledge, along with keeping up to date on any changes.

Do you think setting a fixed IP just for my laptop, I mean Static could cause the problem?

Since I got the latest Windows 10 updates, I haven't had the problem, in addition I deleted all the stored Network Profiles. now I'll wait and see.

If you are going to want that machine to keep the same IP and not lose it if the Router gets amnesia. You can do a MAC to IP association if the gateway allows you to do so. If you set a Static IP, there is a possibility that the Gateway could create an IP conflict when it thinks that IP is available if the machine has been offline for a while, so the Gateway gives up its lease.

I love the Cisco RV-320 that I use. It is very easy to setup and make changes on. Also has enough horsepower to handle anything that I throw at it.

You did make me go check my system when I had a slow network connection problem the other night. Found out that one of the jumpers between the switch and the jack was bad. I was getting 10mbps until I swapped it out and got back my 1000mbps connection. It is the little things that cause the biggest headaches.

up to now, everything is fine since I did the last fixes I told you about. but there's something that draw my attentions, I set my Home network to Private, however after a while it is set to Public automatically. I can't keep it private, I think this has to do with my problem.

I click on 'forget' for all the networks that my laptop remembers, and I access my network again and set it to accept sharing folders...
the problem is that I clicked No, when I first accessed the network and when I try to set to Private, it goes back to Public automatically which causes problems with Avast Internet Security, because it remembers the kind of network I'm using.
    many thanks for you all.
