The setup on these devices are pretty straightforward. You just need to make sure that if the device does NAT, that you are not double NATing.

If you are using it as a bridge or repeater, there should be some instructions on the website for that device, or it came with a CD that has a guide in it.

There is usually a tool on the CD that you use for setting up those extenders. If they see each other and are able to get a good connection through home electric, then you just need to set up for connection to the gateway to the master through Ethernet. The other acts like a bridge that does both Wifi and Ethernet.

You need to set it up with a Static IP and turn off any DHCP IP handout.

No problem. I was trying to read the info and look at it on my phone, but could not find any online pdf. The issue that I deal with with the set of Ethernet over Power Trendnet units at my in-laws, because there was no way to pull Ethernet and I could not use a MoCA, because they have DirecTV and already have one installed. When I have checked the logs and rates when I was last there, they are high enough to give a good speed for streaming Netflix. But too low to really get anything that would allow for a good HD or HDX bitstream.

These units are more of a bandaid when you cannot pull Ethernet. If you have Coax wiring between the two points and no splitter, You can always go with MoCA's and then you do not have to worry about the headaches involved with dealing with poor electrical wiring.
