readyshare does not even show in the credentials, and forgive me again but i don't know how to go about setting them up
sorry to say but in my 40 odd years of having worked with and around pc's , networking was never my strong field
btw and if i did not mention this, i started working with computer way back in early 1970's before the pc even existed, yes this gives me an age of app 70+ so i appreciate your patience in this step by step help
    truly appreciated
also when i tried to map the drive, most of the letters where greyed up
    thank you

    That's ok.

When you get to step 5 in OPTION ONE below, you can manually type the "share name" of the readyshare drive like in the screenshot under step 5. You can get the "share name" from your router's ReadyShare setup page.

Please feel free to let me know at any step below you are having trouble with.

    failure

in map a drive i select the drive as showing in Netgear readyshare (t)
then i have either an option to enter the drive name or browse
    1) in browse i see a box with Network and nothing underneath
    2) if a type \\READYSHARE - only identical as i the router name - windows does not recognize the name
    3) if i type the drive name - it also is not recognized
    4) if i type \\READYSHARE\XXXXX as is in the router's indication, -= it also shows as not recognized
basically it looks as though i am not connected in any network at all
    much appreciated

btw - i connected the drive directly to the pc, and it seems that the cable (usb to samsung jack cable) was giving windows explorer hiccups, (it would not see the drive, or restart listing) so i changed the cable, still windows does not see it in the network,
except that my sony tv did see the drive with the bad cable and the new cable
    i am losing it
    thanks for your patience

Double check to make sure that your W10 PC is set to use a "Private" network, network discovery is turned on, and file and printer sharing is turned on.

In addition, here's some more info from Netgear below to double check with your ReadyShare setttings on the router.

thank you so much for taking the time to compose the message, let it be said that up until the last windows version ALL THE SETTINGS WERE PROPERLY SET AND FUNCTIONING. The bug started right after installing the last windows version.
I've checked and rechecked all the settings time and again and although none has changed i still can't see the drive
my printer is wifi and it communicates perfectly with the pc. i think this is a window's bug and no amount of settings playing will change it.
when installing new windows versions, windows itself does a full merge of the existing settings with the new os. this bug started right after rebooting for the last time when doing the last update. so i have a gut hunch that unless it's either fixed by netgear or microsoft i will not regain the use of my drive.
btw i do not use windows for streaming, i don't have to, in my androids i have readyclouds and my tvs all of them see the drive and obviously they all are androids (sonys)
so thanks guys but this is a fix that need a more in depth knowledge of windows itself. i am so disappointed, but hey thank you so much and if someone has an out of the box idea as to how to fix it i am game, unless ms$ fixes it with a new os
    much appreciated guys,
