Bluetooth isn't accessible despite troubleshooting
Simple problem. Bluetooth isn't working on my laptop at all. It is a Dell 3521 built Dec 2013 that has always been updated the day of each OS release date. Over the last year I just never needed Bluetooth so never realized it disappeared.
I'm currently on Win 10 14393 updated and went about it by a USB clean install method. In the past 2 weeks since going to Anniversary is when my attempts at finding Bluetooth started. My wireless card is a wifi/Bluetooth card
When trying to install Bluetooth by any driver (Dell Broadcom 1704 version) I get the message "Activate Bluetooth Wireless Switch" In windows mobility center only Wifi is able to be checked or unchecked, WPAN is greyed out non checkable. In settings under wifi or airplane mode no Bluetooth options are showing up.
Researching internet has showed the usual steps. Uninstall wifi driver, reinstall, or try a new driver, try an old driver. Even tried the generic Microsoft driver. I updated all drivers that were already updated via Microsoft through Dell,Intel, etc in the proper order Dell and the Dell articles in the past showed. I've done the reboot, install, reboot, check, shutdown and unplug everything, etc tips/tricks.
Device Manager doesn't show a specific Bluetooth driver. When I check the wifi driver the hardware id shows the correct hardware I thought I have. So I know I am trying the correct hardware drivers. I've tried installs from the download location, or forced installs from device manager.
I checked in my BIOS to find if any option is available to turn off radios wifi or Bluetooth and can't find anything at all for either. My wifi does work fine but I use Ethernet.
So can anyone help or have any ideas to get this right. I'm tired of messing with it to be honest. Win 10 2015 version and this new version is great but definitely lacked research or development on the part of compatibility without issues. Vendors, Manufacturers and Microsoft. It just seems like features and looks is all Microsoft was worried about. This is another topic but still hoping somebody who lost Bluetooth or knows how to fix this issue. Guys who chime in I'm not a noob at all so whatever needs to be done I can do. The basics have been covered on my end.
